Below is important information regarding the Optometry Benefit available to members of the Ingwe Option.
As a member of the Ingwe Option, you are entitled to the following optometry benefits:
Every beneficiary is eligible for one comprehensive eye examination, commonly referred to as an eye test, every two years. This examination is crucial for assessing your overall eye health and determining any vision correction needs. Additionally, every two years, you will receive one pair of spectacles, which includes both the frame and the lenses. This benefit ensures that you have access to the necessary eyewear to support your vision needs.
When choosing your spectacles, you have the option to select a frame from a designated range of frames available under this benefit. It is important to note that if you decide to select a frame that falls outside of the specified range, you will be responsible for covering any additional costs associated with the price difference. The lenses provided with your spectacles will be standard-quality white CR39 lenses, which can be either single vision or bi-focal, depending on what is deemed appropriate for your vision correction.
Qualifying criteria for these benefits include:
- Utilizing an Ingwe Primary Care Network Optometrist for your eye examination and eyewear needs.
- Your refraction measurement must exceed 0.5 for the benefits related to spectacles and lenses to be applicable.
Please be aware of the following important notes:
- Sunglasses, tinted lenses, hard coatings, and contact lenses are not included in the coverage provided by this benefit.
- Any upgrades or services that fall outside of the outlined benefits will incur costs that you will need to pay out of your own pocket.
