Who can I register as a dependant?
You have the opportunity to register the following dependants, although this is subject to the underwriting process:
- You can include your spouse, whether by law or by custom, as a dependant. This encompasses individuals who are legally married to you as well as those who may be recognized as spouses through cultural or traditional practices.
- In addition to a spouse, you may register a life partner with whom you have made a long-term commitment. This partner should be someone with whom you share a common household, reflecting a significant and enduring relationship that is akin to marriage.
- You are also permitted to register your own children, stepchildren, or legally adopted children who are under the age of 21. It is important to note that for dependants who are over the age of 21, excluding a spouse, we will require proof of their dependency status. Once these dependants reach the age of 21, they will be subject to the adult contribution rate.
- Furthermore, you can include members of your immediate family for whom you bear responsibility in terms of care and support. To register these individuals, we will need to obtain proof of both the familial relationship and their dependency on you.
